Situation

You work for the local council of a small town.

An empty building is available in the town centre. The mayor wants to open a restaurant that will attract customers and improve the town.

You have two options:

Option A: Fast-Food Restaurant

Advantages

  • Cheap meals
  • Quick service
  • Popular with young people
  • Many customers every day

Disadvantages

  • Unhealthy food
  • More packaging waste
  • Strong competition from other fast-food restaurants

Option B: Healthy Food Restaurant

Advantages

  • Fresh and healthy meals
  • Good for people’s health
  • Supports local farmers
  • Positive image for the town

Disadvantages

  • More expensive meals
  • Longer preparation time
  • Less attractive for some teenagers

Once you have made your choice, you will call the mayor adviser to discuss it. Then you will write an e-mail to the mayor with your final decision.
